What you are actually paying for
Most shops will not tell you how the jacket inside your jacket is made. It is the single thing that decides whether it still fits in five years. Here is ours, in plain words.

Fused
The inner structure is glued to the cloth. Light, quick, and the least expensive way to build a jacket. It holds its shape well for a few years, and it is honest work when the budget is the budget.
Good for a first suit, a holiday jacket, or a garment you will wear a handful of times a year.

Half canvas
A layer of horsehair canvas is stitched, not glued, through the chest and lapel. The lapel rolls instead of folding, and the chest moulds to you as you wear it. The lower half stays fused.
Good for the suit you wear to work, to weddings, and to anything that matters.

Full canvas
Canvas runs the whole length of the front, stitched by hand. Nothing is glued. The jacket takes the shape of the person wearing it and keeps it. It is the most work and the most cloth, and it lasts longest.
Good if you want one jacket rather than three, and you want it for a decade.

From walking in to walking out
Six steps, and you are present for four of them
Nobody can make a garment fit without seeing you in it more than once. This is the whole sequence, including the parts that take time.

We talk first
What it is for, when you leave, and what you want to spend. No tape measure yet.
- 02
You choose the cloth
You will hold it, and you will know the mill and the weight before you decide.
- 03
We measure
Around twenty measurements, plus how you actually stand. Posture is half the fit.
- 04
First fitting
The garment is basted together, not finished. This is where most of the corrections happen.
- 05
Second and third fitting
Smaller each time. If something is still wrong at the third, we keep going.
- 06
You take it, or we ship it
Collected in Patong, or sent to your door. Your pattern stays with us either way.

Every garment that leaves this shop was measured, fitted and checked by the same hands. He opened here in 1999, lost the shop to the tsunami in 2004, and rebuilt it on the same street.
If something is wrong at the third fitting, he is the one who says so before you do.

Mill, weight, weave and composition. If a shop cannot tell you what the cloth is, that tells you what the cloth is.
