You can absolutely tailor-shop in monsoon. Plan indoor activities (shopping, fittings, spa, food) for afternoon rain windows.
Why monsoon is quietly the best season for tailoring

In high season (November to March), serious tailors run at capacity. Consultations compress, rare fabric bolts get claimed quickly, fitting schedules tighten. In monsoon, we run at maybe 40% of high-season volume. Every customer gets full attention, unhurried fabric time, flexible fitting slots.
2. Slightly lower prices
Not officially, most shops hold list prices year-round. But monsoon-season customers often negotiate small extras (a second pair of trousers, hand-worked buttonholes, extra lining upgrades) more successfully because shops want to keep machines busy.

1. High-twist tropical wool (regardless of season)
Wool’s natural moisture-wicking means even in 90%+ humidity, a wool suit handles rain-damp conditions better than polyester. Tier C Italian Super 120s in 260 g/m is ideal, resilient to occasional caught-in-rain moments, breathable in humidity.
2. Mohair-wool blends
Mohair fibre repels water slightly better than pure wool. A 30% mohair / 70% wool suit survives unexpected afternoon showers with less long-term damage. More expensive (Tier D) but worth it for travellers returning to wet-climate home cities.
3. Treated cotton (water-resistant)
